Costa Pacifica came into service in 2009 for Costa cruises she is the sister ship to the Costa Serena and the Costa Concordia, she was built at the Italian based Fincantieri shipyards, on June 5, 2009 Costa Pacifica was named by her godmother Noa Vezzali in a world first dual christening ceremony, together with the Costa Luminosa, both ships have different godmothers, the Pacifica embarked on her maiden voyage the following day.

Life on board the ship is based around music the vessel has its own soundtrack of 29 songs to accompany you throughout your holiday, the soundtrack CD can be purchased on the ship as a souvenir to take home, there is even a real recording studio on board that can be used to record your very own CD.

Other features on board the Costa Pacifica along with the usual pools, restaurants, bars and sports facilities include a grand prix simulator, the stardust theatre which is located on 3 levels, and for movie buffs the Pacifica has a large outdoor screen and if that’s not enough cabins have Interactive televisions with movies on demand.
