First Time Cruisers

Day of Departure

1. Luggage

Allow plenty of time to get to the port especially if you are planning to drive yourself, if you a flying out to meet the ship or using a complimentary bus service make sure you allow plenty of time, better to be hours early than risk spoiling your holiday

Don’t forget your home should be left secure appliances should be switched off, if you have arranged a house sitter don’t forget to give them a key

2. Your Home

On the day of departure your luggage should be already packed and ready to go, any luggage labels that you have been sent should be attached with any information they have asked you write on them such as your name and cabin number

DON’T FORGET YOUR PASSPORTS

3. embarkation

At the port there may be a waiting area where you can get refreshments, you will also have to produce your holiday documents and passports etc, and some point you will have been separated from your luggage this is usually bought to your cabin shortly after you board.

Once the ship is ready to be boarded you may be escorted in groups or be taken by bus to the ship, before boarding you might have a photo taken and be offered a welcome drink, you can then walk up the gangway and board the vessel there is usually someone at the top to welcome you onboard, once onboard you should go to reception, you should expect a long queue as there will be other passengers waiting as well once  you have got to the front of the queue you will be issued with boarding passes these are also used like a credit card to purchase drinks etc which is added to your on board account, you will also be given keys to your cabin these are usually plastic cards that fit into a slot on your cabin door, try not to loose them as there might be a charge for a replacement, after you have finished at reception the should be a member of staff waiting to take you to your cabin, if your luggage isn't already waiting outside the cabin it will be delivered soon afterwards, you may now unpack and enjoy your holiday
