



The wreck of the titanic was found on 1 September 1985 in a expedition, led by Jean-Louis Michel and Dr. Robert Ballard It was found at a depth of 2½ miles south-east of Mistaken Point, Newfoundland,the wreck is approximately 13 miles from fourth officer Joseph Boxhall's last position reading




After the discovery, one year later Ballard and his research team travelled back to take a closer look
They used a small submarine Alvin, to get a first hand look at the wreck.
