Ocean Village cruise's was founded in 2003 by P&O Princess Cruises (which later merged with the Carnival Corporation) as a sister company to provide an alternative cruise experience to those looking for casual dress codes and fun events as opposed to formal dining the service was aimed at families in the 30-50 year age bracket, The company's slogan was "the Cruise for people who don't do cruises".
The fleet consisted of two ships ocean village and ocean village Two.The brand ran for just 7 years before it was discontinued in 2010.
both ships have been transferred to P&O Australia and are still in service, Ocean Village now operates under the name of Pacific Pearl and Ocean Village Two sails under the name of Pacific Jewel.
