Dawn Princess was built at the Italian based fincantieri shipyard she came into service for princess cruises in 1997 following her naming ceremony performed by 6 members of the original cast of the television show The Love Boat, Gavin MacLeod, Fred Grandy, Ted Lange, Bernie Kopell, Jill Whelan and Lauren Tewes would collectively serve as the godparents for Dawn Princess.

On board the ship has a total of 999 passenger cabins consisting of 396 Inside cabins, 193 Ocean view cabins, 372 Balcony cabins, 32 Mini-suites with private balconies and 6 Suites with private balconies.

Dawn princess offers 3 types of dining options Traditional Dining in the Florentine or venetian dining rooms where you have a set time for each meal, speciality dining serving up exquisite local specialties and gourmet favourites and casual dining such as burgers, hot dogs or a buffet which can be enjoyed whenever you like.

All the Traditional cruise ship entertainment facilities can be found on board including swimming pools a casino and various lounges and bars, while captivating productions, talented musicians, singers and dancers can be enjoyed in the princess theatre or vista show lounge, the ship is also equipped with a movies under the stars outdoor cinema.

For younger guests youth and teen centres are fully equipped with everything from the latest video games and movies, to arts and crafts, fooseball tables, board games and jukeboxes. And for the littlest ones, activities like kids' karaoke, pizza parties, and pyjama nights.
