USS Missouri

Under Siege is a 1992 film  it stars Steven Seagal as a former Navy SEAL who must stop a group of mercenaries, led by Tommy Lee Jones, on the U.S. Navy battleship missouri Though it was set aboard USS Missouri, very little of the movie was actually filmed there,as the ship was still in service at the time. Instead it was mostly filmed aboard USS Alabama,which had already been decommissioned and was a museum ship, Missouri received a total of eleven battle stars for service in World War II, Korea, and the Persian Gulf, and it was onboard the Missouri that the Japanese surrendered ending world war 2, she was decommissioned on 26 February 1955  but recommisioned some 30 years later  Under the Reagan Administration she was finally decommissioned on 31 March 1992 and opened as a museum ship at the Arizona memorial in pearl harbour on 29 January 1999
