The main features of the promenade deck consisted of two
1st class staircases one was located between the 1st and second funnel and the other between the third and fourth funnel, the forward or grand staircase was the more elaborate of the two rising through six decks and topped by a dome of iron and glass. Also on this deck was the 1st class cabins,1st class lounge,the 1st class smoke room, the reading room and the verandah cafe
.

The Promenade deck was reserved exclusively for First Class passengers and extended for over 500 feet along the ship.
