Welcome to the Gymnasium on the RMS Titanic.

Opening hours are Gentlemen 6am to 9 am.

Ladies from 10am to 1pm.

Children from 1pm to 3pm.

Gentlemen from 4pm to 6pm,

Tickets for the gymnasium can be purchased at

the Pursers Office for 1 shilling. 

 

The Gymnasium was located on the starboard side of the boat deck near the second smokestack, the facility was for the use of first class passengers, The gym Included Rowing Machines, Stationary Bicycles an Electric Camel and other novel items of equipment.

The gym instructor was Scottish born Thomas W Mcawley, seen here in his white flannels, when the titanic sank Mr Mcauley stayed at his post in the Gymnasium and it is believed he went down with the ship, his body if recovered was never identified, he was 36 years old.

The Gymnasium room can be seen here on the wreck beetween where the funnels once stood.
